Job Description

The Platform Architect will be responsible for driving the overall cross-functional architecture of the CMX Platform and its supported applications and services.   The Platform Architect will collaborate with the EVP, Technology and Development as well as the Director(s) of Engineering and senior technical staff to evolve our technology platform and processes to better meet the business needs.  The role requires understanding future business needs and anticipating the technologies needed to support them.
 

The ideal candidate will define and document system architecture and cross-service contracts; develop strategies to pay down tech debt and improve velocity; institute and manage standards and review processes; and provide oversight and support to teams and engineers across the whole technology and development organization. 


Responsibilities

  • Optimize the coarse grained architecture of our combined software, UX, and AI/ML platform and products.
  • Provide oversight and support to developers and teams, including reviews of their software design and code.
  • Where applicable, design and develop the Software products or perform associated prototyping and evaluation.
  • Create and document processes relating to application architecture, design steps, integration processes,  testing procedures, installation, and maintenance of the application.
  • Provide solutions in areas of disaster recovery, data integrity and security. Analyze problems with data infrastructure and recommend solutions.

Requirements  

  • The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years experience with designing and developing advanced frameworks/platforms and 5 years experience providing high level oversight of the work product of multiple teams.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Relational database modeling.
  • M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with senior leadership, management and peers.

Beneficial Experience

  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability, standards and integration engines (eg MIRTH).
  • Knowledge of Epic or other EHRs.
  • Experience in developing healthcare software solutions, especially related to medical coding.
  • Design and development of external services and APIs, for integration with other software applications.
  •  Experience with business process workflow/rules engines, web application server platforms.
